The fundamental technology behind this service was researched and developed by the Aizawa Laboratory (Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies, Department of Information and Communication EngineeringGraduate School of Information Science and Technology), The University of Tokyo.
FoodLog deploys results from the "Life Log Infrastructure for Food" research project, conducted as part of the "Creation of Human-Harmonized Information Technology for Convivial Society" research area funded by CREST (Core Research for Evolutional Science and Technology), an undertaking of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).
